Welcome to the Oak Hill Junior High Band!!! Mr. Jesus Ibarra is eager to get back in the band hall and start a wonderful year full of fun and hard work.

Mr. Ibarra studied music at Sam Houston State University and earned his degree in Music Education. While at SHSU he was part of the Bearkat Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and Orchestra. He studied Tuba with Bob Daniels and played jazz bass trombone for Dr. Rod Cannon . He also had the pleasure of studying conducting with Dr. Gary Sousa and Matthew Mcinturf.

Jesus Ibarra is starting his 16th year of teaching in Texas and his first year at Oak Hill Junior High. Mr. Ibarra started his career at Willis High School where he was the assistant band director for 7 years. The next 4 years were spent in Manor Independent School District. He was the head director at Decker Middle School for 3 years and spent 1 year as the assistant at Manor High School and Manor Middle School. Mr. Ibarra then moved to Jarrell Independent School District as the Director of Bands and was in charge of the music education program for grades 6th-12th.
